Every year, rhododendron bloom turns the Ammerland parkland landscape around the district town Westerstede into a single blooming rhododendron scenery.

The most beautiful view presents itself in the 70 ha. large Rhododendron Forest Park in Linswege/Petersfeld, with several hundred sorts and plants which partially grow as high as trees.

The rhododendron plant became a symbol oft the region. The absolute highlight which celebrates the plant adequately is the “RHODO”, Europe’s largest rhododendron exhibition. It takes place every 4 years in the centre of Westerstede at the foot of the time-honoured St.-Petri-church: during 10 days, it draws about 100,000 visitors from near and far to the rhododendron city Westerstede.

The RHODO 2018 takes place from 10 – 21 May.
